Whats the best music to drive to?

Postby Admin » Thu Jan 24, 2008 8:59 pm

Depends.
If you want to take it nice and easy then something slow and ballady like 'Albatross'. If you're in a hurry something quick and heavy like 'Ace of Spades' or 'Bat out of Hell' .

Personally, I like The William Tell Overture, The Hall Of the Mountain King or The Snowman

Albatross? No no no no no - only if you have a soft-top with a feable, quiet engine. Driving should not be relaxing it should be involved and the music should be just as involved and oh dear God I'm sounding like Jeremy Clarkson.

So, as much as I like the dulcit tones of Janis Ian or Madelaine Peyroux, they do not feature on my car stereo. Some good modern european Street-Ska, some Madness, or even the louder, faster efforts of the Pet Shop Boys do it for me.

Of course, when I finally get the "Stereo" (its mono) in my 1800E working, it'll only be radio so perhaps the BBC Light Programme .....

You could listen to Listen While You Work, and Workers Playtime. And lets not forget Family Favourites and then the Billy Cotton Bandshow on Sundays.

Bruce Springsteen for me whatever car I'm in :D

I have to admit he is good live (dead would be stupid)!! Did anyone see Glastonbury this year. It was pretty damned good. Blur, Burt Springboard, The Specials, CS & N, The Prodigy that band that only knows 3 chords, Franz Beckenbaur, Little Boots, The Porta Loos.............. oh how it must have rocked!!!
